About Us
The Barefoot Accountant (formerly S & L Accounting Services) was formed in 1996 by the current Principals, Sean and Lesley Kelk. The business has operated successfully during this time, advising and working for clients in both the public and private sectors.
Sean Kelk has had an extensive career in the business and financial management arena successfully undertaking roles as Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director, Financial Controller and Business Development Manager in small to medium sized companies. He has an extensive career in consulting to a range of businesses - small and large. He has a Bachelor of Business Majoring in Accountancy from Queensland University of Technology. His expertise has been in the development of business whether they be start up or underperforming businesses. He has been successful in turning troubled businesses into successful ones.
Lesley Kelk has had an extensive career in the financial management arena, through various accounting roles is small to medium size firms. Lesley has been involved in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector for over 10 years working in Schools, TAFEs and private RTOs, where she has delivered competencies across Accounting, Business and IT. Lesley currently holds several job roles including: Training Manager, Course Coordinator, and Company Director. Lesley's qualifications include: Bachelor of Bus. (Accountancy); Bachelor of Adult and Voc Ed; Masters in Ed Tech., as well as a range of VET qualifications, including the Cert IV in TAE. Lesley has been developing VET materials in the areas of Accounting, Business and IT for a number of years and specifically tailors VET resources for High School assessment and delivery.
